Batteries are sold separately. IKEA recommends LADDA rechargeable battery 2450 mAh HR6 AA 1.2V, 2 pieces required.
The built-in timer stays on for 6 hours and then automatically turns off for 18 hours before turning on again.
The timer function resets when changing between steady and flickering flame modes.
